Alonso, Schumacher, Button are in Melbourne!! F1 is heating up along this week. We even can hear them testing their “jet” from the apartment. It all comes up today! The feature race…expect to hear loud noises. This post is updated. Congratuliations to Kimi and Ferrari…who won the race today. but i like Massa more…he cut through the circuit like a hot knife through a butter. 16 cars?? and 1 pitstop?? Woww!!

Last, just around the corner of the circuit, a band named ‘TETUWIRS’ came on stage. Playing ’semi-unpluggled’ ngamen style at the ‘Alun-Alun’, Consulate General of Indonesia. Audie (vocal), Mira (titi kamal/voval)), Wowo (lead guitar), Andira (rhythm guitar), Vesa (bass), Miki (percussion), and Theo (’kecrekers’). haha. They were playing old school songs, just like the name of the band ‘tetuwirs’. Andai (Gigi), Judul-judulan (PMR), Bukalah Kacamatamu (Rano Karno), Anjingku Melolong (Padhyangan Project), Terserah Kamu (Humania), Bebas (Iwa K), and last but not least…Jablai (Titi Kamal) and Kopi Dangdut.

Pie Rendang, Empek2, Batagor, Jagung rebus, sama yang paling penting, Teh Kotak juga ada.

Woke up at 11! Lazy saturday is it?
We are going to victoria market today! But we waited until 2 o’clock. Because Victoria Market closed down at 3 or 4pm in the afternoon. Discounts discounts discounts! cube diced beef for only 6$/kg. Chicken for 9$/kg. And vegetables…We brought the big bag we bought in IKEA ($1), and put all the groceries in it, convenient!

On the way back, we stopped by the Subway Sandwich just below our apartment which had been tempting us since day one!

The fridge is empty. Victoria Market is on our schedule for saturday morning. What to do? what to do? We decided to go and ask Dimax (friend of ours), where to get the best fish n chips? not to pricy tho’…Clarendon Fish n chippers is the answer (rated the best fish and chips in Melbourne). It’s easy to get there, just take tram number 112 from Collings st, towards west, passing crown casino, clarendon st….and when you see commonwealth bank on your left/nandos on your right, get off the next stop! continue walking along the way, it’s actually the 6th/7th restauran on the left. I tried the Value Pack (3 fish bites, 1 calamari ring, 1 potato cake, golden chips) and deasy tried prawn pack (4 King prawns, golden chips). The fish are fresh, nicely cooked, nice tartare sauce, prawns were extremely big and delicious. But still, i’d rate it 2nd best, comparing it to new york fish n chips at Fish co. We were so hungry and we forgot to take a picture first…but at least you get the idea. Oh one more thing, theres also sushi, sashimi…i reckon koreans own that place (with all the korean cooking and serving).

Hari ini adalah hari pertama gw ditinggal sekolah beneran sm Andira heheheh ( kl kemaren2 dia msh orientasi, jd gw msh bisa ikut jalan2 liat kampusnya dia)….dan udh diksh hiburan dl minum chocolate and strawberry shake di Max Brenner dan membeli bbrp buku dan tulis buat Andira kuliah.
Cukup menyenangkan…acara demi acara hari ini diisi dengan memasak.Td sore gw laper dan kepikiran coba belajar masak sendiri bikin nasi goreng (krn chef-nya mau sekolah, jd gw d jd assistant chef), alhamdulillah lumayan sukses…
habis makan alhamdulillah banyak teman2 yg msh pada dikantor ber Yahoo Messenger ria….jd d gw punya temen2 ngobrol di YM, cukup rame dan sibuk…ada Bella di Bali, sisanya anak2 Jakarta dan grup Puri Bintaro…my lovely mom and my sis Cella.

Yesterday we went to victoria market to buy some beef, chicken and vegetables. Lucky me, unlucky for deasy, i found ‘kacang hijau’ for that delicious drink during pregnancy. But i haven’t found palm sugar. Went back home and cook lunch and dinner, finally, we could start cooking and save heaps of money. First stop, chicken with honey sauce.

Saturday night it is. I never mentioned this before, I still have some friends living in Melbourne, a couple, Audie and Marianne, and brothers, Dimax and Dexter. Last night, they (xcept dexter) took us for a ride to a place called The Docklands. Lots of restaurants and cafes, also apartments….nice place. Since we already had dinner, we just grab a cup of coffee and hot chocolate. It was great, thanks to audie and marianne, also Dimax. Nice to see them. Went back home, and catch some zzz’s.

It’s friday already. Neither of us did notice it. First stop Myer department store. Deasy was curious about this store. She found that ol’skool rice bowl, pink one! She loves pink…. Then we went to pick more groceries, vegies, sauces and another cooking pan! We are cooking tonight! Tho’ is only nasi goreng, but it had more colors in it…greens! But looky looky here, she found another Indomies…lots of em, packs of them…but none she bought…haha.

As soon as we finished our dinner, we decided to test out the student cards for concession movie ticket. Lucky us, we live next door to a new Hoyts cinema. We went to see ‘Ghost Rider’…which turned out to be a dissapointment. I’d give it 5 out of 10. Wrong casts, wrong director, a comic to movie failure. Just like Punisher, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. We are giving high hopes for Spidey 3 and transformer in this year. Also Ocean’s 13, Wild Hogs, Pirates of Carribean 3, and others.

Well that’s about it. Out first friday night down in Aussie.

This is the second dinner she cooked. Steamed rice (we’ve exchanged the rice cooker), chicken nuggets (yay!), and sausage. Very easy huh? this because we only have one cooking pan, and no sauce or the right ingredients. Deasy’s still learning to get around melbourne for groceries and markets. I’d say, give her a few weeks, and there will be no more ready-to-cook foods.

‘ayt mate? …she’s even learning the aussie lingo….

There are many things that i, Andira wish that Deasy wouldn’t catch in Melbourne. Things such as Mango (MNG) store, ZARA and others. But she found them, hey that’s okay.

But the only thing that i was really afraid…is when she found that thing she’s holding. Damn you Indofood. Kiddin’

Yea yea, of course there’s a lot of good foods and restaurants here in Melbourne. Kanpai, Pancake parlour, Hungry Jacks (Burger King), McD (yea eyalaahhhh), china express, mekong, …i could keep on doing this, but i decided to continue on writing.

But there’s always something’s missing….texas fried chicken, warung indomie puspa (deket nasgor bhakti), nasi goreng betawi 99, rokuroku, kemang steak, bubur sukabumi, nasi gila, nasi goreng malaya (si babeh cabang al azhar)…..waaaaaaaaa…banyak.

yea, last but not least, we’re also missing our family and friends. hehe

No news on visa, yet Jakarta already cried out loud for our departure…hahaha. Flood everywhere, 2002 all over again.

Deasy’s most favourite food of all time! Mie Yamien Mang Memet, pertok pondok indah. Have a blast while you can…you wouldnt eat them for a long time, if we are in Melbourne.
