SPOOFFF…
Yes. It is true, everything will die eventually.
In this case, i’m talking about my apple powerbook 65W adapter/charger. I know that i bought the 17″ powerbook cheaper, almost half of its price, because it was an x display, but yea, who would pass a 12 million rupiah for a 17″-1.5ghz-powerbook offer? and it was new, never been used on heavy tasks, all it was doing was sit there, on the display for almost a year.
Manufactured in 2005. Well give it a year for the warranty, and another year extra for the adapter, and *poof*, it died on me. The light is on, but it’s not charging. If i’m lucky enough, twist a bit, and it will charge, for several seconds, and dies. Then i took some chances to browse the internet for the solution, it turns out that people have been getting the same trouble, but most of them had twice the bad luck i had, their adapter really blew up, like sparkle, spoof, and smokes. Mine didn’t go like that. It’s the head connector, i’m sure of it.
There are 3 solutions…
1. To ‘frankenstein’ up the adaptor. I found a site, where they cracked open the ‘disposable’ adapter, or simply cut the cable, and re-solder the component/cables. The chance is less than possible, furthermore, i have to equiped myself with solder, and other tools…i don’t want to spend anything for something unsure…
2. Buy a third party or second adapter/charger on eBay. it’ll cost half the original one. about AU$60, if you are lucky. But it’s a 3rd party, not original, i mean ….there will be this weird feeling of having a pirated-copycat. But i’m researching on macally and macfast 3rd party adapter, but i have to buy it from the US.
3. Go and spend AU $129 for a new one, which comes with 1 year warranty…(after that??). But this option is the best one i think, if you have the money.
With all of those option, i should get a stabilizer too, because all the adapters were fine before i moved in to this apartment. the adapters are becoming very hot quickly…i wonder why? any suggestion?

INNA LILLAHI WAINNA ILLAIHI ROJI’UN.
Baiknya beli yang baru saja, biar aman. Juga beli stabilizernya juga. Nampaknya listrik di apartment tidak lebih bagus dari listrik di martimbang ya. nanti Papa kirim tambahan dana untuk itu.
