Yea yea, of course there’s a lot of good foods and restaurants here in Melbourne. Kanpai, Pancake parlour, Hungry Jacks (Burger King), McD (yea eyalaahhhh), china express, mekong, …i could keep on doing this, but i decided to continue on writing.

But there’s always something’s missing….texas fried chicken, warung indomie puspa (deket nasgor bhakti), nasi goreng betawi 99, rokuroku, kemang steak, bubur sukabumi, nasi gila, nasi goreng malaya (si babeh cabang al azhar)…..waaaaaaaaa…banyak.

yea, last but not least, we’re also missing our family and friends. hehe

Hahahahaha…setelah belanja sana belanja sini buat keperluan rumah sm Andira, akhirnya gw coba untuk memasak nasi di rice cooker baru..hmmm…menyenangkan bisa irit duit buat tabungan…maklum blm ada kerjaan niy…akhirnya tadi pagi gw coba masak nasi untuk pertama kalinya di Melbourne heheheheh…sukses!dan ternyata masih ada sisa, lumayan buat makan nanti malam.Kita udh semangat bgt buat makan dirumah, dikarenakan lauk dan sayurannya blm beli jadi kita beli lauk dl di restaurant Nelayan ( Indonesian restaurant di Melb)…beli rendang daging + sayur…..pulang kerumah bermaksud untuk manasin nasi pake rice cooker baru dan ternyata…NGGAK NYALA BOW!alias RUSAK! hahahahahahah…..jdlah akhirnya kita bereksperimen manasin nasi di microwave…lumayan aga anget lah…ampun d

We’ve been busy settling in and shopping for house needs. Back and forth to target, big W, and groceries. Bought mobile numbers for us. Pre-paid for her and contract for me (with a free phone Sony Ericsson W810i).

The apartment is called UniLodge. Expensive, but what i like from it, that it’s furnished, located in the heart of Melbourne city, just go down and you’ll meet the train station, and i could make deals thru internet waay before i got here. No aircon tho. but have no fear, we bought an air fan for $15.

Our tired feet is crying now, we should take some rest. Post u soon!

Dodgy means dodgy.
I brought this printer (out of the box) from Indonesia. It might have been thrown back and forth while it was on the plane to here. I connect the usb, the power, installed the ink cartridges, and when i was tying to print, there were this sound….

KRAKRAKRAKKRAKRAKRAKKRAKRAKRAKKRAKRAK!!

whoaa…i disconnect the power cable straight away. Contact the australian epson, and they gave me some addresses where i can fix this thing up. Worst is, brand new, and the warranty doesnt cover internationally.

I took the time to visit the Epson representative, which took me about 45 minutes to get there. A person took a look at my printer and said,

“yea, this probably got knocked up on the way here. But there are things you should know, the check up will cost you $25, and the fixing or labour fee is about $95 per hour. Since this is a entry level printer, i reckon you should buy a new one and use this one as a door stopper”

“you might want to try downloading the latest driver for your mac”

say whatt….so the fixfee is twice the printer’s price. but then he checked it, and it prints fine…I took it home, and downlad the latest driver (which is the same version with ones they’ve included in the box), and voila! it prints well now.

So i guess, first, it had to be taken around Melbourne for some “lovin”, and it will love you back

Finally. We arrived in Melbourne. 8am in the hot-quiet-sunday.
The flight was very good, StarClass. Personal video player, wide leather reclining roomy seats, good foods, we passed the wine and baileys on the rocks they’ve offered. But before we could breathe the fresh air, we had to conquer the 3 levels.

Level 1 / Immigration
Thousand people were in the immigration lines, took 40minutes to get thru. Not a problem

Level 2 / Baggage
Where’s our baggages? The baggage rail already stopped, and our baggages were left over the other side of the rail. Thought we lost em all..

Level 3 / Custom
The highest level of all. If you bring meats, pets, animals, soils, lots of money, lots of cigs….you are going to be fined/prosecuted. But today, this turned out to be the easiest level of all…only took 30 minutes. Then we went out…..and faced the reality….

Melbourne is HOTTER than Jakarta at noon!

We’re halfway to Melbourne. Currently in Ngurah Rai airport. We flew off from Jakarta (an hour delay) at 2.30 pm saturday noon with Wings Air. Stopped by Surabaya for about 30 minutes, and straight to Bali. We wait, and we wait and we wait fol like 4-5 hours until the check-in desk were open (about 8pm, Bali local time). We checked the overweight baggages (excessing 20kgs, in total of 80kgs), but only half of them is charged.

Since we are flying on the Jetstar ’s StarClass, we’re entitled to enter the first class lounge. Free hot foods, drinks, snacks, internet, massages….wow. Feels like we don’t want to leave this lounge.  

It’s almost 10pm in Bali now, we’re boarding in about 20 minutes from now. We’ll until then….toodaloo!!

Finally! We’re going off to Melbourne!!

Deasy woke me up this morning..err..10am to be exact (that’s early for me), and said “The visas are out!!”. Hoooraayyy!! So, from that time until this hour, it had been rush hour for us. First we off to Citibank, and made some bank draft for the accomodation. Then we off to the travel agent, and issued the Jakarta-Bali ticket with wings air, and off to another travel agent to issued the ticket from denpasar to melbourne, with Jetstar. Now there’s the secret, we are going to Melbourne with Jetstar, an airline under the great australian airways, Qantas. We were unlucky to not getting the cheap tickets, they were sold out. We had to take the expensive one, the star class (that’s business class for Jetstar) which costs same as the economic seats on qantas flights. But hey, we are allowed to take 30kgs per passenger with these seats. We are leaving for Melbourne on Saturday noon, and wait for 8 to 9 hours for the Jetstar flight.

Talk about last minute. I did all of these last minute. From applying to the university (1 week before due date). Visa processing, 2 weeks before approval. And flight, 2 days before the departure day. Because i have to be arrived in Melbourne for the orientation week which commence on Monday, 19th February. Wow!! What a relieve…

So i guess, like Kris Dayanti sings…..”Menghitung Harii….”

No news about visa…not a new thing…

What surprise me is, no plane ticket available throughout this month. Not a single tix, not even a sniff.
Even from Singapore to Melbourne…nada…zip….nothing! SQ, Qantas, or even Garuda, apalagi Adam Air..hehehhe.

But hey! i found a new way to fly to Melbourne, with lower cost!
I will tell you soon as i bought tickets for myself (karena gue takut keabisan..kalo gue kasih tau sekarang)

Pasti gara2 banjir deh nih. Embassy kebanjiran, yang bikin visa gue telat. Australian embassy loh, bukan embassy yang di taman ria…kalo yang itu sih bodo amat. hahahahha.

Tapi kabar hari ini adalah, agent gue bilang, insya Allah keluarnya hari senen.

Yah berdoa sajalah.
Yang bertanya mengapa kok tiba2 jadi bahasa Indonesia. Maklumlah, you know our english is kinda pas2an, and not to forget that we also love our mother language gitu lochh…

It’s already february 7th, haven’t bought any tickets and haven’t packed yet.

On the other side, there is one good news!
Deasy’s pregnancy is into week 15th, into the 2nd trisemester. Went to see the doctor the other day, we saw our baby, tucked in his/her mommy tummy. Alhamdulillah, we saw the head, brain, body, small arms, hands, and legs. Gender? still unknown, we’re happy enough tho’. And he/she was moving, kinda like jumped a little, and again…and again….whoa
