Student days

News, Sights 3 Comments »

Phew. Finally got time to write about the classes i’ve been into. To be honest, I only have 3 subjects for this semester. Monday and tuesday classes begin at 6pm until 9pm. Wednesday and thursday classes begin at roughly 9am and 10am, and finish at 1pm.

I prefer full 3 days classes. But I’m letting loose all of those afternoon, so eventually I could pick up some casual work after classes. About those night classes, they are meant for us, the postgrad students because some of them are working in the noon. I’d love that. But yea…considering all the workload from the uni, i’m afraid of getting left behind on the study.

PSSI 2020

This is a family thing. Those who are not in our family circle, wouldn’t understand any of these beleow. This is the Indonesian Soccer Team for world cup 2020, of course it’s only a joke, because those are my nephews from cousins. I post it anyway. Made by my father, Kartiyoso, babenya.

pssi20201.jpg

And this is my review of the team..
Reyhan mundur kebelakang jadi center back, bersama davin. Dias kanan belakang…overlapping back.

Sekian pengamatan bung Andi.

One week without socca..

News, Sights No Comments »

JT knocked!

Yea yea…that’s how you pronounce it in Australia. Find all the words which end with -er, and change them into -a(h).
Killer > Killa(h), Fever > feva(h), soccer > socca(h). Thats one step to become an Aussie.

A week without socca. No more live coverage on the telly. And now this, my dad just gave the good/bad news about my favourite socca team, Chelsea. They’ve won FA cup indeed, but their skippa(h) King Terry is injured…again.

Good luck Chelskie…may the force be with you.

One week already!

Yesterday we went to victoria market to buy some beef, chicken and vegetables. Lucky me, unlucky for deasy, i found ‘kacang hijau’ for that delicious drink during pregnancy. But i haven’t found palm sugar. Went back home and cook lunch and dinner, finally, we could start cooking and save heaps of money. First stop, chicken with honey sauce.

Saturday night it is. I never mentioned this before, I still have some friends living in Melbourne, a couple, Audie and Marianne, and brothers, Dimax and Dexter. Last night, they (xcept dexter) took us for a ride to a place called The Docklands. Lots of restaurants and cafes, also apartments….nice place. Since we already had dinner, we just grab a cup of coffee and hot chocolate. It was great, thanks to audie and marianne, also Dimax. Nice to see them. Went back home, and catch some zzz’s.

1st weekend

It’s friday already. Neither of us did notice it. First stop Myer department store. Deasy was curious about this store. She found that ol’skool rice bowl, pink one! She loves pink…. Then we went to pick more groceries, vegies, sauces and another cooking pan! We are cooking tonight! Tho’ is only nasi goreng, but it had more colors in it…greens! But looky looky here, she found another Indomies…lots of em, packs of them…but none she bought…haha.

As soon as we finished our dinner, we decided to test out the student cards for concession movie ticket. Lucky us, we live next door to a new Hoyts cinema. We went to see ‘Ghost Rider’…which turned out to be a dissapointment. I’d give it 5 out of 10. Wrong casts, wrong director, a comic to movie failure. Just like Punisher, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. We are giving high hopes for Spidey 3 and transformer in this year. Also Ocean’s 13, Wild Hogs, Pirates of Carribean 3, and others.

Well that’s about it. Out first friday night down in Aussie.

I Love Plasticards

Today was the last orientation day. And look what i’ve got in the last day, my Student ID card! yaaayy! You know, we can use this to get a student price for movies. From $15 to $12.5. not much, but that’ll do. But i still prefer going to the movie on Tuesday, NoMat as we say in Indonesia, Nonton Hemat.

I went home, and checked the mail. Look what i found! An international student card from the apartment, and mails from the bank. I ripped them off, and….tadaa!!! I’ve got my ATM card…the commonwealth bank card.

Some of you might think that i’m overeacting on this, but hey…i just love Plastic Cards (even more with my photo on it).

Night Market at VicMart

Yesterday i was showing deasy the street behind our apartment, called elizabeth street. It’s not as famous as famous as Swanston, but the thing is i want to show her the way to Victoria Market. A place where you can buy fresh meat, fish, vegetables, pork (yummy..haha…kidding), and everything else. It is already closed when we got there.

There were music behind Victoria Market. Infact there was this “pasar malam”/night market there. Suzuki Night Market to be exact. There were live music, foods, and bazaar. Lots of unique stuffs. Ones which caught our attention were baby clothings, t-shirts, REFLEXOLOGY! (but i won’t pay 30$ for only 20 minutes), customised paintings (like my canvaganza, just like it, but they are hand painted), and plakat/signage (ol skool to nu skool, cocacola, beers, cars, movies, etc…for $30 each). We were both lucky and unlucky that we didnt have any money….haha. Visit Queen Victoria Market/VicMart

If you want to see a bigger pictures, just click on the right links called our flickr! it’s actually our photo page.

She Cooks!! Yay!!

News, TummyYummy 3 Comments »

This is the second dinner she cooked. Steamed rice (we’ve exchanged the rice cooker), chicken nuggets (yay!), and sausage. Very easy huh? this because we only have one cooking pan, and no sauce or the right ingredients. Deasy’s still learning to get around melbourne for groceries and markets. I’d say, give her a few weeks, and there will be no more ready-to-cook foods.

‘ayt mate? …she’s even learning the aussie lingo….

Finding MiGoreng

There are many things that i, Andira wish that Deasy wouldn’t catch in Melbourne. Things such as Mango (MNG) store, ZARA and others. But she found them, hey that’s okay.

But the only thing that i was really afraid…is when she found that thing she’s holding. Damn you Indofood. Kiddin’
